Google Play Fest 2026: Dates, Rewards, Play Points and How to Get the Best Deals

Last reviewed: October 8, 2026. Google Play Fest is set to begin on October 13, bringing a week of discounts, Play Points boosts, game leagues, quests and sweepstakes-style rewards across Google Play.

Google is calling Play Fest its biggest Play event yet, and the timing matters if you already spend money on Android apps, games, books or Play Pass. Several of the best rewards are tied to Play Points, and some bonuses start before the main event.

Here is what is confirmed so far, how to prepare before October 13, and how to avoid wasting points or buying something too early.

Google Play Fest 2026 dates

The main Play Fest event runs from October 13 through October 19, 2026. Google says discounts, point boosts and event activities will be available during that window, subject to local availability and promotional terms.

Play Pass subscribers get an early start. Google says Play Pass members can receive double points and 6x boosts starting October 8 and continuing through Play Fest.

What is Google Play Fest?

Play Fest is a limited-time Google Play promotion built around shopping rewards, Play Points, games and special event activities. Instead of focusing on one app or one sale, Google is combining several types of promotions in a single week.

• Discounts on selected apps, games and devices.
• Points boosts on eligible app, game and book purchases.
• Play Points sweepstakes entries for selected prizes.
• Game leagues and leaderboards.
• Play Fest quests with rewards.
• Extra benefits for Play Pass subscribers.

The exact offers can vary by account, country and eligibility, so the promotions visible in your Google Play app are more important than any generic list posted online.

The Play Fest Sweepstakes

Google says the Play Fest Sweepstakes begins on October 13 and will include thousands of prizes. The company mentions exclusive merchandise, high-end devices and tickets to major global sporting events among the rewards.

Eligible users can redeem Play Points for entries, with more redeemed points giving more chances to win. Google also states that no purchase is necessary, and the final terms and entry details will be published when the sweepstakes opens.

Because sweepstakes rules can differ by location, check the official Play Fest page and the terms shown inside your own Play Store before redeeming points.

How to join Google Play Points before Play Fest

If you are not already enrolled in Google Play Points, joining before the event can make sense if the program is available in your country.

1. Open the Google Play Store on Android.
2. Tap your profile picture.
3. Tap Play Points.
4. Tap Join if the option is available.
5. Add a payment method if Google asks for one.

You can also join from the Play Store on the web. Google says the content that earns points and the available rewards depend on your country.

How to check your Play Points balance

1. Open the Google Play Store.
2. Tap your profile picture.
3. Tap Play Points.
4. Tap Use to see your current balance and expiration date.
5. Open Points history if you want to review how points were earned or spent.

This is worth doing before October 13. If you have a limited number of points, you may want to decide in advance whether they are more valuable for sweepstakes entries, Google Play credit, coupons or in-app rewards.

Daily points boosts during Play Fest

Google says users should return to Play between October 13 and 19 because points boosts will be available across eligible apps, games and book purchases.

The important word is eligible. Promotional multipliers can depend on your Play Points tier, country, account and the specific offer shown to you.

Before making a large purchase, open Play Points and check the Earn tab. Google uses that section to show your base earning rate and active promotional multipliers.

Play Pass subscribers get extra benefits

Google is giving Play Pass members additional rewards during the event. According to the official Play Fest page, subscribers can receive double points and 6x boosts beginning October 8 and continuing through the festival.

That does not necessarily mean every purchase earns 6x points. Google describes both double points and 6x boosts, so you should check the exact promotion attached to the app, game, book or purchase before paying.

The biggest deals run October 13 to 19

Google says Play Fest will include major discounts on selected apps, games and devices during the main event week.

That creates a simple strategy: unless you need something immediately, consider waiting until October 13 before buying an app, game or device that is likely to be included in the event.

A lower price combined with a points multiplier can be more valuable than buying the same item a few days early.

Play Fest game leagues

Google is also turning part of Play Fest into a competitive gaming event.

The company has confirmed leagues for Angry Birds 2, Free Fire and 8 Ball Pool. Players can compete on leaderboards for a chance to win rewards.

Google is already encouraging users to register and prepare before the event begins. If you play one of these games, check its Play Store page and the Play Fest hub for registration or league details.

Play Fest quests

Another event feature is Play Fest Quests. Google says users can complete a series of steps to earn rewards.

The exact quest requirements can differ, so the safest approach is to open the Play Fest section once the event begins and follow the tasks listed for your account.

How to get the most value from Play Fest

You do not need to buy everything that is discounted. The best strategy is to combine discounts with rewards you were already planning to use.

1. Check your points before the event

Know your balance and expiration date so you do not spend points impulsively.

2. Wait for the event before large purchases

If a purchase can wait until October 13, you may benefit from both a sale and a points multiplier.

3. Check the Earn tab before checkout

A multiplier only helps if it actually applies to your purchase. Verify the promotion before paying.

4. Compare Play Points rewards

Points can be redeemed for in-app items, coupons, Google Play credit and partner vouchers in supported regions. A sweepstakes entry may be exciting, but a guaranteed discount or credit may offer better value depending on your priorities.

5. Do not assume every offer is global

Google Play promotions can vary by country. If an offer mentioned online does not appear in your account, it may not be available in your region or for your Play Points tier.

How to redeem Play Points

1. Open the Google Play Store.
2. Tap your profile picture.
3. Tap Play Points.
4. Tap Use.
5. Choose an eligible item, coupon, Play credit option or other available reward.
6. Tap Use points.

Google notes that points used for certain in-app items or charitable causes generally cannot be refunded, so confirm what you are redeeming before you finish.

Should you save your points for the sweepstakes?

That depends on whether you prefer a chance at a large prize or a guaranteed reward.

A sweepstakes entry has uncertain value because you may win nothing. Play credit, discount coupons or in-app rewards provide a known benefit. If your Play Points balance is small, it may be smarter to compare the guaranteed options before spending everything on entries.

If you have a large points balance and enjoy prize drawings, the Play Fest sweepstakes may be more appealing — but read the final rules first.

Will Play Fest be available everywhere?

Google is promoting Play Fest through Google Play in multiple regions, but individual deals, points boosts, sweepstakes eligibility and rewards are subject to availability and local rules.

The easiest test is to open Google Play and look for the Play Fest banner or the Play Points promotions shown to your account.

What to do on October 13

• Open Google Play and look for the Play Fest hub.
• Check Play Points > Earn for multipliers.
• Check Play Points > Use for event rewards.
• Review the sweepstakes terms before redeeming points.
• Compare discounted prices before buying.
• Check the Play Fest leagues if you play Angry Birds 2, Free Fire or 8 Ball Pool.
• Look for quests that offer extra rewards.

If the event works as Google describes, the best value will likely come from stacking a real discount with an active points multiplier — not simply buying more because a festival banner is on the screen.
